Fairytale of New York is a really lovely story about a woman who escapes to New York after a tragic event took place in her life. This isn't revealed however till further into the story to keep you guessing what happened to her that made her so unable to want and feel love. The storyline is a pretty obvious one with how it is going to end however it doesn't stop you from carrying on wanting to read it. The book is a happy one to say the least and if you was going through a bad time or anything i would definetly recommend this book to you as it is a pick me up kind of feeling you get from the book. I read this book before I went to New York as obviously through the title it reveals the location but it doesn't talk much about the city just the different people you may see and the lifestyles of many people. Unlike Lindsey Kelk's I Heart New York which talks a lot about the city and allows a good insight into what to expect this book isn't really about the city but about finding love and a new start in New York. One of my all time favourite stories and books.*****-5 Star Rating.
